Consultation
The Resource Press team of experts can guide
you from manuscript to delivery of completed books. The Resource
Press does not fund books to publication. All authors pay for
services on an as-needed basis. Services available include manuscript
editing, cover and book design, ISBN acquisition, Library of Congress
filing, print coordination, printing services, storage and fulfillment.
In addition, The Resource Press marketing department can assist
you with an author/book website; direct mail; public relations
writing and submission, as well as other promotional items from
book bags, apparel and specialty items.
You
will be asked to complete a questionnaire that assists in determining
your primary and secondary target markets, timeline and publication
schedule. This assessment will help in forecasting sales and distribution
for ordering books to print. In some case, you may decide to opt
for on-demand printing solutions for low/minimum run projects.
Let
our team help you. If you complete the online
assessment form, our team will follow up with a personal phone
call. Phone meetings are conducted at no charge [1 hour free].
In-house planning meetings can also be scheduled. You will qualify
for our "book planner's rate" $50/hr. If you decide
to move forward on the project, your first $100 will be waived.
If you should decide to put the project on hold, you will simply
be billed for meeting. If you move forward with the project within
90-days the $100 fee waiver is still in affect, and you will be
credited $100 towards the project.
Book
Design
Let The Resource Press design team take
your manuscript to the printed page and your concept to an eye-catching
cover design. They say, "don't judge a book by its cover,"
but with the fierce competition in the book industry, a writer
needs to take the cover design very seriously. The cover is the
first impression the reader gets. From fiction to nonfiction,
educational, resourceful, autobiographical, humorous, historical,
trendy or edgy; what do you want to evoke with the cover?
The
process consists of our team reading a synopsis of the book provided
with the new book assessment and questionnaire; and interviewing
the author as part of a discovery process for the creative approach.
Who is your target audience?
Editing
Whether editing for grammar, context, syntax
and spelling or editing for consistency in the message. We provide
the resources for an editor specific to your needs. Editing ranges
from a flat project fee to an hourly rate ranging from $50-$75/hr.
For budget purposes, you can estimate $3.00-$5.00 per page for
editing. If you do not need editing, simply submit your manuscript
in digital form. Microsoft™ Word files preferred. Publisher files
not accepted. Our production department will flow text into final
page proofs for author’s final approval.
Photography/Videography
Full-service photography and videography
services can be commissioned for various aspects of your book.
Whether you need cover photography, author portrait, studio or

other product shots, instructional photography, or custom subject
or theme photography, speak to your Resource Press advisor for
details.
